About

Real ChrysoFIX (Chrysoperla sp.), better known as green lacewing are hardy generalist predators, indigenous to South Africa, with a ferocious appetite for a wide range of agricultural pests.
They are commonly used in orchards, nurseries, parks and gardens, and can establish a breeding population for long term management. Growers can also effectively use them for hotspot treatments using egg or larval stages.

Mode of Action

Effective against:

  • Aphid spp.
  • Lepidoptera spp.
  • Mealybug spp.
  • Spider mite spp.
  • Scale spp.
  • Thrips spp.
  • Psyllid spp.
  • Whitefly spp.
Benefits

Real ChrysoFIX:

  • Poses no threat to non-target insects
  • Serves as a supplement to naturally occurring beneficial insects
  • Is an alternative to corrective chemical treatments  - which can then be avoided
  • No chemical residues – thus no market restrictions
  • Contributes to resistance management.
Application

Releases in outdoor settings (such as orchards and vineyards) to boost natural populations early in the season. Application can also be made to fast track re-establishment if the natural population has been lost or reduced due to the use of disruptive pesticides.
