Chrysoperla sp.
Real ChrysoFIX (Chrysoperla sp.), better known as green lacewing are hardy generalist predators, indigenous to South Africa, with a ferocious appetite for a wide range of agricultural pests.
They are commonly used in orchards, nurseries, parks and gardens, and can establish a breeding population for long term management. Growers can also effectively use them for hotspot treatments using egg or larval stages.
Effective against:
- Aphid spp.
- Lepidoptera spp.
- Mealybug spp.
- Spider mite spp.
- Scale spp.
- Thrips spp.
- Psyllid spp.
- Whitefly spp.
Real ChrysoFIX:
- Poses no threat to non-target insects
- Serves as a supplement to naturally occurring beneficial insects
- Is an alternative to corrective chemical treatments - which can then be avoided
- No chemical residues – thus no market restrictions
- Contributes to resistance management.
Releases in outdoor settings (such as orchards and vineyards) to boost natural populations early in the season. Application can also be made to fast track re-establishment if the natural population has been lost or reduced due to the use of disruptive pesticides.
- Packaged lacewing eggs are delivered in insulated, chilled boxes. The box should be kept sealed until ready to apply the product.
- If eggs are not applied immediately, the box should be stored at 10-18°C. DO NOT FREEZE.
- Do not keep eggs for longer than 72 hours before application.
- Keep out of direct sunlight.
