About
Real GrammaFIX (Trichogrammatoidea cryptophlebiae) is a parasitic wasp that targets the egg stage of lepidoptera species. They are tiny wasps indigenous to South Africa and are seen as a highly effective option for False Codling Moth (FCM) control.
Mode of Action

Host Range/ Effective against:

  • False Codling Moth (Thaumatotibia leucotreta)
  • Macadamia Nut Borer (Thaumatotibia batrachopa)
  • Litchi Moth (Cryptophlebia peltastica).
Benefits

Real GrammaFIX:

  • Eliminates FCM larvae before they hatch
  • Suited to integrate with other control methods
  • Effective in hard to spray areas such as large macadamia and citrus orchards.
Application

Real GrammaFIX eggs must be distributed in affected orchards as soon as the fruit become susceptible to moth damage (November / December) or when FCM is regularly caught in pheromone traps. Multiple releases are required for adequate control.

Compatibility

Real GrammaFIX are well adapted to a range of climatic conditions and can tolerate high temperatures. High humidity is preferable.
